The vision of Clelian Heights is to provide an atmosphere of choice and mutual acceptance, respect, and love that will make a lasting difference in the lives of persons with developmental disabilities.
Clelian Heights Inc. serving persons with developmental challenges since 1961, is operated by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Clelian Heights is located on a 40 acre stretch of land off Route 66 on the outskirts of Greensburg in Western Pennsylvania's Westmoreland County.
We are a licensed private school (Clelian Heights School) which operates 10 months per year serving children with developmental disabilities ages 3-21. As a licensed private school funding may be provided by the student's school district of residence. Private payment and scholarship opportunities are also options.
The adult vocational facility, Clelian Center, (age 21 and over), is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare. Funding may be provided by county MHMR, OVR, OBRA, or MR Waivers. Private payment and scholarship opportunities are also options.
Residential opportunities include: Chip's House, a group home for young men, the Sweeney and Melenyzer apartment buildings and Clelian residential dormitories for both children and adults. Funding may be provided by school district, county MHMR Base funding, private payment and scholarship.
Clelian Heights is governed by a Board of Directors and has an Advisory Board of 18 community business and professional men and women who advise through their participation on four standing committees: Executive, Operations, Public Relations, Development and Planned Giving.
Clelian Heights has an Endowment Foundation to assure the future of its programs.
