Transition to Work Skills
We provide job training (in the school as well as the community) and Transition to Work classes for our students 14-21 years of age. These classes include the following:
- Job exploration
- Learning job related skills
- Practicing and completing work-related tasks
- Skill development as related to the application and interview process
- Learning and using work-related equipment
- Learning and practicing appropriate work-related behaviors including interacting with co-workers and supervisors
Our students assist many service groups in the local community as part of the “Transition-to-Work” program. The parternerships include: St. Vincent DePaul Store; Delmont Library; Christian Layman Corps; Christ Episcopal Church; the American Red Cross; Greensburg Food Bank; Redstone Highlands; Meals on Wheels; St. Emma’s Retreat Center and a few local businesses such as Chick-Fil-A and The Shaggy Dog.
